Looking for a 4K Program with wrap-around care?We are now enrolling for the fall! The Learning Gardens has been including kindergarten readiness as an overall goal in our curriculum for numerous years. The Learning Gardens hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Students participate in the MMSD 4K program during the morning hours, from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., when 4K instruction is counted. Before and after these hours, children receive “wrap around care.” However, our 4K teachers remain with the children for the full day as learning occurs throughout the day.
Lisa, our 4K teacher, has over 30 years of experience in the classroom, bringing a wealth of knowledge, skill, and wisdom to the table. With decades of experience, she has mastered the art of balancing structure with creativity, ensuring that every child feels both supported and challenged. She has an incredible ability to adapt to each child’s unique learning style, knowing exactly how to nurture their individual strengths while addressing areas that need growth.
With such extensive experience, Lisa exudes confidence and calmness in the classroom. Her patience seems endless, and her understanding of children’s emotional and social development allows her to handle even the most challenging situations with ease. She knows how to create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow.
Over the years, Lisa has built lasting relationships with students and families, often becoming a trusted mentor not just for the children, but for their parents as well. Lisa knows the importance of communication and collaboration, keeping parents involved and informed about their child’s progress. Her leadership in the classroom extends beyond just teaching academic skills—she helps children develop critical social and emotional skills that will last a lifetime.
