We have the very important role of caring for your child and encouraging their development in their first years. Our goal is to provide a high quality, nurturing and safe environment for your child that will help him/her grow into a wonderful, curious and happy person. All activities are designed to stimulate their physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth in a loving and comfortable environment.

Victoria, Pumpkin Patch Teacher

Hello! My name is Victoria Shanahan, and I am so happy to be a part of the Learning Gardens Family! I have enjoyed working in childcare for about 9 years starting with babysitting then teaching kids how to fish in the summertimes, to being a lead teacher! I absolutely love everything there is when it comes to working with children. I grew up here in Madison and got my bachelors in Psychology in Milwaukee. In my free time I love traveling and exploring new places and cultures, playing the piano, riding my bike and curling up with a good book. My passion is art, I plan to get my masters in art therapy, so I would love to help the kids express themselves through art!

My favorite quote: “When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts”

-Dalai Lama

David, Pumpkin Patch Teacher

Hello! My name is David Densmore. I am very close to finishing my Associate of Arts degree in Psychology and afterwards I want to get a certificate in American Sign Language. I also want to become a foster parent some day. I really enjoy that The Learning Gardens focuses on play based and hands on learning. I also like that the classrooms are structured so that the children can get as much one on one attention as they need. My favorite child related quote is from Matilda who I related to a lot as a child. It’s, “Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world”.
