The Apple Blossom Room
We believe that children learn the most through active learning experiences based in play. Children learn with the support of adults and their peers. Each area of our room is arranged with specific academic and social learning experiences in mind. These experiences provide a challenge for different skill and ability levels along with the opportunity for success on any level.
The Apple Blossom room has three teachers: Jamie and Joe. We believe all teachers are equally responsible for planning and carrying out a variety of developmentally appropriate activities as well as providing a safe and caring environment.
Jamie, Apple Blossoms Teacher
Hello, my name is Jamie. I graduated from UW-Platteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood minor. I also earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from the St. Mary’s University of MN. I have lots of experience teaching Pre-K through 6th grade. My joy in life is to help children learn and grow. My husband Tim and I have two children named Emily (16) and Matthew (11). In our spare time, we like to go on vacations together and watch movies. I’m looking forward to my new adventure at The Learning Gardens.
Joe, Apple Blossoms Teacher
I have been working at The Learning Gardens since August of 2005. I was a float teacher until June of 2006 when I became the lead teacher in the Sweet Pea Room. I have been a teacher in the Apple Blossom Room since November 2009. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and Development from Madison College. I previously worked at the V.A. Kids Center as a lead teacher in the preschool program for 5 years before coming to The Learning Gardens. I enjoy working with children because every day is a new adventure. I am looking forward to working with you and your children.
