We believe that each child is a unique and special person who needs to be shown that it is okay to be that special person. We value an environment that encourages learning through creative play.  We encourage the children to show us how they want to learn and explore and then help them further challenge themselves. We welcome all of our families to be actively involved in their child’s education and value your input to ensure that we are helping each individual child be successful in our program.

Hi! My name is LaKeisha Saulsberry. I have worked in the early childhood field for over 20 years and have been with The Learning Gardens since April, 2023. I am working on finishing my degree in Early Childhood Education and am a level 5 on the Wisconsin Registry. I love working with children because everyday is a new and fun adventure. I believe children learn best through natural play, exploring, and problem-solving.  I have three children ages 18, 10, and 8. In my spare time, I like to draw, dance, be outside with my kids, and take family trips.

Helen, Ladybug Teacher

Hi! My name is Helen. I have been with The Learning Gardens since June, 2024. I love working with kids because I learn from the children I am working with every day!  I also like that every day is a different day!  I believe playing is the key to learning.

I have worked in the Early Childhood field since 2016.  I have worked with infants and up to 5 years old.  I grew up in Riverside, California but I have lived in Madison since 2014.  I have 3 young children.  In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and go to the park, downtown, and practices.  I speak both Spanish and English.  I consider myself a hard-working and driven individual who isn’t afraid to face a challenge.
