The Learning Gardens

The Learning Gardens Child Development Center, a local leader in early childhood education and childcare, is a licensed and accredited center, receiving a 5-star rating from YoungStar. Through our infant, toddler, preschool, 4k, and school age programs, we work with and support families with infants as young as six weeks old up to age 10. At The Learning Gardens, we believe children thrive in the security and stimulation of a high-quality program which links families and the center together. In doing so, we accomplish our mission of ensuring children acquire the skills they need to become productive members of society. We believe young children learn best through active involvement in an environment which is caring, child-directed, developmentally appropriate, educationally enriching, and embracing diversity. Freida is our September Employee of the Month! She is a kind and loving teacher who has a special gift for connecting with children of all ages. Her gentle nature and warm presence make every child feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether she’s engaging with infants or guiding older children through their day, Freida’s ability to build meaningful connections shines through. Her calm, nurturing approach creates a comforting environment where children thrive.

Marsha is our wonderful lead teacher in the Wiggle Worms infant classroom and October Employee of the Month! A seasoned educator, Marsha brings a warm, friendly presence to both her team and the families she supports. Her creativity shines in the loving, engaging environment she creates for our littlest learners, and her sense of humor brings joy and laughter to everyone around her. Marsha’s ability to connect with her teammates and the babies in her care makes her an invaluable part of our community.

Joe, our dedicated 3K teacher, recently celebrated his 20th year at The Learning Gardens.

Over the past two decades, he has made a lasting impact on countless children and families with his kindness, patience, and passion for early childhood education. Joe’s commitment to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment continues to inspire both his students and fellow educators.

End of Summer Celebration

September 7, 2025

We ended the season with a fun End-of-Summer Celebration featuring our summer camp and 4K students. The 4K class performed two songs with our music teacher, Casey, and everyone enjoyed cheese and crackers, lemonade, and a treat from the ice cream truck. It was a great way to celebrate a fantastic summer!

We’re thrilled to kick off our Summer Odyssey camp starting June 12th! We’re also delighted to introduce Mr. Andrew, our energetic and dedicated Summer Camp teacher. With enthusiasm and care, he’s been hard at work transforming the former Little Sprouts room into an exciting and enriching space tailored for our school-aged adventurers. From planning engaging field trips to crafting creative math and reading lessons, Mr. Andrew is ready to make this summer a fun-filled journey of learning and discovery!

Our exciting summer camp program offers a wide variety of fun and new adventures for school-age children. It’s 4K Enrollment Time!

Looking for a 4K Program with wrap-around care? We are now enrolling for the fall! The Learning Gardens has been including kindergarten readiness as an overall goal in our curriculum for numerous years. The Learning Gardens hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Students participate in the MMSD 4K program during the morning hours, from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., when 4K instruction is counted. Before and after these hours, children receive “wrap around care.” However, our 4K teachers remain with the children for the full day as learning occurs throughout the day. Chef Alex's Delicious and Nutritious Daily Menus

Chef Alex proudly provides each child with healthy and nutritious lunches and snacks to support their physical and mental development. The meals are prepared on site and the menu is designed to provide your child with a wide variety of well balanced, high quality foods each day. It is his hope to provide life adventures through food by offering a myriad of different cuisines. A morning snack, lunch meal and an afternoon snack is prepared for each of the Learning Garden's classrooms. Please know he will take great care in any restrictions or allergies that your child has.
