Week of the Young Child 2018

Week of the Young Child

#tlgwoyc2018

April 16th-20th, 2018

Week of the Young Child is quickly approaching starting on April 16th-20th, 2018.  We would like to have this be a week of celebrating every child!  In order to make this a success we are asking  families to  participate in the following daily activities.

Monday, April 16th-Zoo & Tourist Day

This isn’t like another other Monday at The Learning Gardens! It’s Zoo & Tourist Day!  Our school is sure to be filled with wild lions, fierce tigers, colorful birds, loud monkeys and exotic fish!  There may also be a tourist or two snapping some wacky zoo animal photos.  Dig out your finest fannie-packs, white socks and sandals and elephant ears.  It’s about to get wild on Monday!  #ispyzoo

Tuesday, April 17th-It’s Your Birthday Too!

I’m not sure the world exactly knows how many times a day we are proudly told, “it’s my birthday too!” We know not everyone gets a chance to be in school on their birthdays, so we are throwing a {BIRTHDAY BASH} school-wide! You have a birthday! <insert pointer finger> You have a birthday! <insert arms in the air> Everyone gets a birthday today! Dress in your best birthday attire which means you might have to dig that shirt out from the back of the closet or prepare for the next birthday. During the day we will be playing birthday games, sharing our actual birth dates and signing! We are here to celebrate your birthday! The Learning Gardens will be providing frozen yogurt for snack time, so no need to bring in a party snack! #tlgbirthday

Wednesday, April 18th-Halloween Holiday: Take 2

Everyone wants to wear that Halloween costume…just one more time! Creative play and dressing up is such a huge part of our day. Children grow, role play and learn basic life skills by simply playing! Dressing up takes their minds to a creative world where anything is possible. Let’s keep that spark forever, shall we? We invite each child to wear their Halloween costume or favorite dress up clothing (shhhhh! All DAY Looooong!) I spy pirates, puppy dogs, spiders, football players and whatever your child’s imagination can dream up. It all goes on Halloween: Take 2! #tlghalloween2

Thursday, April 19th-Superheroes Unite

BOOM! POW! KABAM! It’s time our superheroes unite! Wonder Woman, your cat Fluffy, Batman, Spider-Man, your Mom or Dad! Who is your superhero? Let’s save the world with one perfect smile at a time. #tlgsuperhero

Friday, April 20th-Fairytales & Book Characters

Reading is such a vital foundation for any child and even adults.  That’s why we are going to celebrate reading and fairytales on Friday!  You’re formally requested to dress up as a character from one of your favorite stories.    #readingrules

In addition, we would like for each child’s family photo to be displayed on our Learning Gardens tree in the main hallway.  We are asking that each teacher and parent/guardian write something special about their child or a wish for them and place it by the family photo.

Finally, our doors are wide open!  Meaning, we would like to see parents take a moment and participate in a book reading, attend a meal, get dirty during an art project, join in Spanish with Luis, Music with Casey,  JumpBunch class with Kent, Dance with Caylyn or even just play at recess/walk time.
