The infant unit is made up of 3 classrooms with a total of 24 children and 7 teachers. We have a combined 32 years of experience. The infants range between 6 weeks through 12 months old. The teachers within the infant unit work together to ensure all the children and families are happy and engaged.
We enjoy spending time outside on walks, having water play and just getting messy! We are all very resourceful and are here to answer any questions that you may have, whether you are a first time parent or a parent of multiple children.
Adrian, Infant Unit Teacher
Hello! My name is Adrian and I am so excited to be working at The Learning Gardens as the Infant Unit Teacher. What I like most about The Learning Gardens is that they follow the educational philosophy that children learn best through active involvement with their environment. It gives the staff the ability to set up the children’s environment for the correct amount of stimulation and to enhance their learning.
I recently moved from Iowa City, IA to the Madison area. I am a graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. I have always loved being around infants and young children which is why I babysat while in high school and then continued to nanny all through college. In my free time, I love to hang around my friends and family, go on walks, and my new thing to do is to sit out on the terrace.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Fred Rogers
